Dear Fellow Iowa WOC Affiliate Friends,
I want to thank all of you for the Leadership award you gave me at the meeting in Des Moines. It is so beautiful and I have it displayed prominently in my living room!! It is such an honor to be recognized by peers and I really appreciate it.
I really meant it when I said, even though I am retired (which I love), I wanted to come to the meeting and spend time with friends, both old and new. I think back to the early days when we met in Deb’s basement and now, we are outgrowing our current location.
The Iowa Affiliate has always been recognized as leaders in the organization, and other regions and affiliates have asked me so often how we have grown our ranks and accomplished so much over the years. I think this is because our members have always been willing to recruit and welcome new members and to network so each one has the opportunity to become a success. There are so many new, young faces in the group and I am confident that there are lots of great ideas running through those heads.
I look forward to seeing you all at future meetings. After all, who could think about leaving an organization where you can come back from a national conference and, in addition to learning so many things important for professional success, you can also say that you learned a song with the following chorus,
“Poop! Pee! Pus! We will be victorious!!
